Hi there, my name is Claire and I'm the director of Funky Angel - which sounds very posh, but actually means I just get to do nearly everything!

I write books and articles, edit and publish magazines, and I mentor and coach people who are working, or want to work, from home, or want to start or grow their own home-based business. It's all fun if very busy sometimes, and I love it!

I have two children, Cecily, age 12 and Felice, age 10, plus a menagerie of pets, and I'm a divorced single mum

Hi all, my name is Karen (AKA: Kaz). I am in full time employment at the moment and have been (with the same company)for the last, almost, 18 years! Who knows, the way things are going at the moment, it may be necessary for me to join the growing band of home-workers as I am no longer a "spring chicken" and believe I now fall under the heading of "silver surfer" - doesn't that sound glam!! Congratulations to Claire on the new Funky Angel, all your hard work and sleepless nights have paid off, you should be proud of yourself hon.

Hello...

"My name is Paul Mansell and, yes, I'm an Archers Addict..."

I'm not exactly sure what I'll be able to provide in the way of intelligent, informed or even remotely useful words of wisdom as one of the consultants here...

(Shushhh! I sneaked in the back once the lights were dimmed... don't tell anyone!)

My wife and daughters groan most of the time at my idea of humour but I do surprise them on occasion and make them laugh until it hurts and the tears stream. Unfortunately, as your typical temperamental artist type, stubborn Yorkshireman, and sometime manic depressive to boot, I've also reduced them to tears through my insensitivity.

Like a lot of men, I appear to suffer from selective hearing, although I would put it down to my no doubt misspent but rather fun packed years as a Rock and New Wave DJ during the seventies and eighties. I don't know whether you've noticed, but clubs and venues tend to stick the DJ right next to one of the huge stacks of speakers!

As an 'older' dad, when I first collected my twin daughters from their play group, the helpers used to say, "Look, here's grandad come to collect you." They're now 11, much cleverer and wordly wise than I was at their age and amazingly adept at coping with life, probably more capable than I am... and I still probably look like their grandad.

Not sure where this is going so maybe I should sto

Hello,

I'm Lisa, director (well 1 half!) of Talking Tots. We are a fairly new pre-school franchise.

Talking Tots classes provide a wonderful foundation for one to five year olds, helping them to build some of life’s most important skills – communication and social confidence.

Even the liveliest chatterboxes will benefit from our fun games and exclusive activities, which are designed by experts to help develop skills such as sharing and taking turns, listening and paying attention, expressive language and vocabulary building.

Look forward to meeting you all.

Regards,
Lisa

Hi everyone! My name is Stacey, i am a fully qualified beauty therapist. Hoping to start my own mobile beauty business, with the help from Claire. I have been working as a florist, but have just been made redundant before christmas! So this chance couldn't have come at a better time! They say everything happens for a reason! Though now I am looking for possible grants to get my feet off the ground. If any of you have ideas, please share!!!
I have a 10 year old daughter, lora who is in the same class as Claire's daughter Felice. Which is great when those long talks about getting this business started are due!

Hi Stacey, hopefully I can help!

Whilst our website focuses on financing IT solutions (including software), we are able to fund the whole range of business equipment including vehicles, machinery, telecoms etc.

We work with a large panel of lenders (important in the current economic climate!) enabling us to offer flexible yet competitive terms.

I actually have a lot of experience in the sector, as I have a large number of hair & beauty clients that we've provided funding to.

If I can be of any help, feel free to contact me, my contact details are on our website http://www.thebosscorporation.co.uk .

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Mike

Hi, my name really is Fitzwilliam Darcy (thanks Mum)>

I realise that I'm gatecrashing your forum somewhat, because I'm a bloke. That said, I'm a bloke with an eight year old daughter and I'm a single dad who works from home.

Sometimes it's frightfully difficult to strike the right balance between finding time to be a parent and time to get on with my work.

Does anyone have any tips that might just help, even a little?

Hi all

I understand the problem with balance between home and work - you just have to do the best you can and give time to each in turn without feeling guilty!

I am married with two children 12 and 10. In my first year of a business offering IT training over the internet. I work at home mainly between 9 and 5 but can work weekends and evenings if necessary (if I'm not taking the children to some activity or other!) It's all a matter of juggling!

Hello I'm Jackie Walker and I'm a work at home Mum without children! I have two daughters aged 13 and 12 who two years after we separated went to live with their father for their benefit schoolwise.

My speciality in life is relationships which aren't as rosy as they might be, and separation or divorce may even be on your mind. I help people deal with their emotions, cutting to the chase - the real root of the problem and helping folk either kiss and make up or kiss and break up.

I also work with folk after a big change to help them re-adjust and build up their self confidence etc so that they can have the life they haven't thought about for a while - including starting over and dating.

My passion is making sure that tough relationships don't make you a tough person. I want the spin cycle of poor relating to stop and for everyone to have the love and happiness they deserve - and can get if they will just ask for some help to get there!

Together with my partner Kirsten Gronning, I run Breakup Angels which is an innovative new service and we're just at infancy stage just now. Take a look - www.breakupangels.com

Look forward to helping anyone anyway I can. Just ask!
